A Lymphedema Therapist Answers Your Questions About Lymphedema

A breast cancer diagnosis comes with so many questions and there never seems to be enough time at appointments to have some of these questions answered. To help address this, the Canadian Breast Cancer Network has put together a Q&E: Questions and Experts series. In this series, a variety of experts, including medical oncologists, genetic counsellors, social workers, drug access navigators, and many more, will spend the entire virtual session answering questions from participants. So now is the time to get answers to all the questions that there never seems to be enough time to ask.

In this session, licensed Casley-Smith Lymphedema Therapist and a certified Lymphedema therapist Marize Ibrahim, MSc, PT, CLT-LANA answers all your questions about lymphedema.

Marize Ibrahim, : MSc, PT, CLT-LANA, is a licensed Casley-Smith Lymphedema Therapist and a certified Lymphedema therapist with the Lymphology Association of North America (LANA). She works at the McGill University Hospital Centre (MUHC) Lymphedema Clinic. Marize has a Bachelor of Kinesiology and Physical Education and a Master of Science in Physical Therapy. Marize is a member of both the Professional Order of Physiotherapy of Quebec (OPPQ), the Canadian Physiotherapy Association (CPA), and an Oncology division member of the CPA. In 2020, the Physiotherapy Specialty Certification Board of Canada granted her the designation of Clinical Specialist Oncology.

In this session, participants will be able to get their questions about lymphedema answered. Questions can be asked during the event, or submitted in advance to Bukun at badegbembo@cbcn.ca using the subject line ‘lymphedema question’.
