Intro to Breast Cancer Part 2: Metastatic (Stage IV) Breast Cancer

This session focuses on metastatic (stage IV) breast cancer. You’ll learn how it differs from early-stage disease, what treatment goals look like, and the therapies commonly used to manage it. We also discuss monitoring, supportive care and living well with metastatic breast cancer. The goal is to provide clear, practical information to support you in understanding and managing this stage of the disease.

Who it’s for: People newly diagnosed with stage IV breast cancer

Expert Speaker: Dr. Brooke Wilson completed her undergraduate degree in Economics and Biology at McGill University, and her medical degree at the University of Sydney. She then completed a fellowship in breast and genitourinary cancer at Princess Margaret Hospital as a National Breast Cancer Foundation of Australia International Fellow. She is currently working as a medical oncologist at Kingston Health Sciences Centre, with a focus on breast and gastrointestinal malignancies. Her research interests include health services modelling, resource stratified guidelines for cancer care, and secondary analyses of trial datasets.
